This is a Fine Art photo of the 'SWARTZ DRUG' sign in Brooklyn, New York. It was a beloved store that truly was part of the neighborhood. Bernard and Alma Swartz opened 'Swartz Drugs' in the fall of 1950. They had met in Pharmacy school and had the same dream, to have their own drug store one day. This dream came true when they bought the building and lived above the business as so many people did. They raised six children, Melvin, Maxwell, Millard, Mabel, Michelle and Monkey. All the children were put to work in pharmacy waiting on customer's, running the soda counter or cash register. Now their great grand children are part of the family business and the tradition continues.
