This is a Fine Art photo of the famous restaurant called the 'PIG 'N WHISTLE' in Denver, Colorado. Eddie ‘Punch’ Bohn opened this Denver landmark in June of 1924. The restaurant served up the some of the best Bar-B-Que in the Western states and also had a comfortable motel for weary travelers. Patrons ranged from judges to truck drivers, however, the best known were all of Eddie Bohn’s fighter friends. The likes of Jack Dempsey, Sugar Ray Robinson, Gene Fullmer and Carmen Basilio were faithful clients. However, on occasion, Roy Rogers and The big band Dorsey Brothers would stop for ribs and a brew. The PIG ’N WHISTLE was host to many special events, especially, when it was used as a location shot for Clint Eastwood’s “EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE.” Sadly, after 65 years it was closed in 1991. Eddie Bohn died the following year. THE PIG, as it was known, stood silent at 4801 W. Colfax until a fire destroyed it on April 22, 2010.
