This is a Fine Art photo of the traditionally painted barns through out the east coast and mid-west you would find the advertisements of Dr. Pierce’s patented medicine on barns and old buildings. The verbiage of these old ads were so politically incorrect given today’s standards, but are still worthy of being quoted. In big letters you might find "FOR WEAK WOMEN". Dr. Pierce’s patent medicine targeted mainly the female gender claiming that his medicine could cure woman's diseases including: cancer, digestive illness, fatigue, headache and problems with menstruation. It is assumed that the medicine had a very high alcoholic content, so if you had enough Dr. Pierce a day, you might not even realize that you were as ill as you the doctors said you were.
