Before the concept of Bill Boards advertising for products, amusements, services, motels, hotels, cafés and bars were painted on every available surface. The side of an old barn was perfect for a roadside attraction, big city brick buildings were perfect places to pitch different beers. People were very creative when they found the need to get the word out about what they were selling. Now these faded, almost invisible lettering has been sun bleached over time and are referred to as “Ghost Signs.”
