This is a Fine art photo of "The Rose Motel" sign which is located in La Gloria, Texas. In the 1930s Florence Rose Gomez opened the Rose Motel. What was so special about this small twelve room motel was the garden that surrounded the property. There was every color and species of roses known to mankind. People would drive for miles to stay there even though it was not on a main road to any particular destination. Now all that is left is the fading glory of the exhausted neon sign. However, it still holds some delicate emotions with the fine patina that has weathered the sign through the years. The letters slipping off do to gravity, giving up their space to the wind. There are so many fantastic mothers, aunts, sisters named Rose. What a special surprise to give photo gift of this sweet sign of "The Rose Motel."
