The Bee Motel was once located along interstate 8 going through small unknown towns in the heartland of Wisconsin. It seems in that in the 1940s and 1950s almost every state had several Bee Cafes, Bee Motels, Bee Lodges, and Bee Drive Ins. What was the attraction? Good question. The Bee made great advertising in bold yellow and black colors. The bee is an eye catcher, whether on a bill board or just buzzing around you. The cafes and motels, of the bee nature, seemed to always be quite reasonable, so they were built along by ways that the family would travel on to short holidays with relatives or weekend trips. There are so few left that is difficult to imagine they were once, everywhere.
