This is a Fine Art photo of the old neon sign of the 'Rainbow Cafe and Cocktails' in Pendleton, Oregon. The Rainbow Cafe is a strange blend of a cowboy bar and Irish pub. It is one of those bars that reminds you of that famous sit com "CHEERS". A place where everyone knows your name, if not right away, by the end of the night. The atmosphere is late 1800s and the ambiance is delightful. The Rainbow opened its doors in 1883 and has been operating ever since in the very same location, making it the oldest business in Pendleton. The Rainbow is known for its great food and friendly atmosphere. It is a wonderful visit to a time that one only reads about, definitely worth a trip Pendleton. And while you are there take a tour of the 'Pendelton Woolen Mills' that have been in operation since 1893, producing the finest in Indian trading blankets and colorful plaid shirts. Also there is the amazing 'Pendelton Roundup' that occurs once a year, a top notch rodeo that is world famous.
