Peggy Sue's 50's Diner, Yermo, California

This is a Fine Art photograph of 'Peggy Sue's 50's Diner' sign in Yermo, California. 'Peggy Sue's 50s Diner' is one of those iconic spots in the middle of no where, Yermo, California. Built along the desolate road between Barstow and Baker it serves as the perfect pit stop for people driving to or from Las Vegas. After reading many reviews it seems that on any given day you could experience food cooked in heaven or hell. There are the raves on the deep fried pickles and patty melt to many boos on the Marlon Brando Mushroom Cheese Burger, evidently the mushrooms are canned. There seems to be very mixed emotions on the Buddy Holly Bacon Cheesebuger, many feel it did die on the way to the table and should be buried along with the stale french fries. However, there seems to be many thumbs up on the Banana Split Pie. Many people were called in by the endless billboard signs along the way, almost hypnotizing you to stop and eat. What happened Lady Bird Johnson's kick of beautifying America's roads? The lure of diner magic and tradition still lives in the hearts of many travelers and when one is hungry, the mere idea of having something close to what Grandma made is even more alluring. Peggy Sue's Diner does a great ad promo leading you up to the entrance, as though you are walking through a giant juke box into the past. All the waitresses are in 50s attire, the atmosphere is totally Hollywood over the top and naturally the music is from that era. With every turn of the head you are seeing statues of the Blues Brothers, Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, John Wayne and, of course, there is an Elvis Presley fortune telling machine. If that is not enough, there is a gift shop selling everything from poodle skirts to fake rattlesnake eggs. So it seems that you take your chances when you enter the door of Peggy Sue's 50 Diner. Will the dice be loaded and you are served a plate of something unspeakable or you throw sevens and everything is fantastic, including the service. Lots of words, got the picture? Yes?
