Every August the deep rumbling of 400,000 motorcycle engines, mostly Harley-Davidsons, growl and cough their way into Sturgis, South Dakota for the famed Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Young and old are here to celebrate the joy and freedom of the open road. Some have actually ridden their motorcycles across country to the event, while others secretly transport their bikes to Spearfish or Deadwood and store their air conditioned toy haulers, riding the rest of the way into Sturgis. No matter, every biker is welcomed at the Oasis to down a cold beer or something else. Bike Week is a time to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones.
