Route 66 was known as the ‘Mother Road’ beginning in Chicago, Illinois and going across to Santa Monica, California. Along its interesting path would be the great watering holes of America, famous bars and pubs that drew you in for a look or a brew. The words of mouth ‘cafes’ that people would tell their neighbors about, describing the best friend chicken in the world or the incredible baked goods. Naturally, there were the small side roads that snaked near by, they too offering along the way the best food and drink. Imagine travel without ‘fast food chains’ just fresh food at reasonable rates.
