This is a Fine Art photo of a 1932 Nash mermaid hood ornament. From 1927 to 1932 Nash manufactured a line of cars called the 'Ambassador.' It was known as the top of the Nash line of their senior vehicles. The Ambassador series was acknowledged as Nash's 'Flagship' line of prestigious cars. The design was especially trimmed four-door club sedan, seating five passengers in its roomy interior. It was definitely Nash's most expensive car in the line. Each year the Ambassador received premium upgrades in interior and exterior trim plus quailty upholstery. The selling price for such machine was $2,090 for its base standard cost. One could always choose additional features such as the classy Mermaid hood ornament. These were usually chosen by single men, because it was not exactly the proper decoration to be seated a top of the hood of the family car.
