This is a Fine art photo of a vintage Rocky Mountian AAA sign. The American Automobile Association was founded on March 4, 1902 in the city of Chicago, Illinois. Many independent 'motorist assist' companies from the eastern states all banded together under one umbrella to form the American Automobile Association. Today it is simply known as (triple A) AAA. It is a 'not for profit' member service organization servicing more than 51 million members. Its headquarters is in Heathrow, Florida. In its long history AAA has made many safety improvements to the major highways through out the United States. They have run many Awareness Campaigns for safe driving. AAA was the first to publish a road map in 1905 and hotel guides for each state in 1917. In 1936 AAA developed a driver training program for high school teachers to properly teach students of driving age. Now it is a requirement in all states to take a "Drivers Training Class" before obtaining your drivers license. AAA continues to evaluate every possible way that our roads can be better maintained and how to educate the public in what part they can play in driving safely. Naturally, their most recent campaign is "DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE." I agree. Save your own life and the lives of others.
