This is a Fine Art photo of a vintage Plymouth Hood Ornament. The origins of the hood ornament for Plymouth was a ship at full sail heading toward Plymouth Rock. The Plymouth company began production on July 7, 1928. They produced a mid cost car with extras the lesser priced vehicles did not offer, such as internal expanding hydraulic brakes. The financial back ground of the Plymouth was attached to the Chrysler corporation. As sales fell in the 1990s, Chrysler made the decision to discontinue production of the Plymouth cars and mini-vans. Plymouth closed its doors in June 1999 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
