This is a Fine Art photograph of a "Buick 8 Grille." In the late 1920s Buick introduced its version of the V8 engine. They were the first to come up with the over head valve design, while the other car manufacturers, like, Oldsmobile and Pontiac chose to produce their V8s in a Flathead design. The V8 engine could produce amazing tork and became the engine of choice for the car buyer who wanted a faster and smoother ride than engines of smaller cubic inches. By the 1950s every car produced came with a standard V8 engine, however, some much larger than others. Until Cadillac introduced the crossplane crankshaft for its V8, and then added the amazing V12 and V16 engine to their fleet of cars.
